Bach at One

St. Paul’s Chapel

Last season, Trinity completed its five-year presentation of Bach’s complete sacred choral music. This year Bach at One continues in the fall with the six motets, BWV 225-30, with which the cycle began, as well as other favorite cantatas, performed by The Choir of Trinity Wall Street and the Trinity Baroque Orchestra. The ensembles perform these works with period instruments, providing a historically informed experience of some of Bach’s most awe-inspiring sacred works.

In the spring, Bach at One will feature music of Bach and his contemporaries. Along with Bach’s cantatas and St. John Passion, the program will delve into instrumental and vocal works of Buxtehude, Krieger, Heinichen, and Tunder. The series will move to Mondays in March 2017 and will feature instrumentalists from New York Baroque Inc.
